It was like that scene from Star Wars, when the Millennium Falcon comes out of hyper-drive in the middle of an unexpected asteroid field after Obi-Wan says:
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."
It was on this day three years ago that something terrible DID happen: Kurt Warner announced his retirement from professional football.
OK, it's only football, but we were sooooo close! One more year with #13 would have done it. But, no.
I'm better now. And I'm sure Kurt and his family are as happy as they have have ever been with papa by their side every day.
It's been an honor to know you, to see you play, to watch you lead by example, to have a stronger faith through yours and to have the courage to know when to say "when."
By the way, have you noticed that if you add up the individual numbers of the date Kurt retired, it equals 13? (0+1+2+9+1+0)
