Britney Spears' lip syncing does not 'drive me crazy'
Best of all, her singing was on point. Not one single note was out of tune!
OK, before you even say anything -- yes, I'm aware that Spears lip syncs all of her performances. And to be honest, I prefer it that way. After all, I'm paying for a good show, not to see her suck.
I already know that outside of the studio, minus all the processing and auto tuning, Spears is not an amazing singer. What she is however is an exceptional performer.
"Britney does not sing," the source said. "She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync."
I laughed hysterically when I read the report because I wasn't expecting her to sing live anyway.
Have I become desensitized, or are my expectations just realistic?
If it was Adele, Alicia Keys or Mariah Carey that were offered a stint in Vegas, and I found out they were going to be pre-taping their shows, I'd probably be upset. I expect them to sing, not to bust out some outrageous dance moves and put on a cirque du soleil type show.
Maybe that's why I was upset when Beyonce lip synced her way through the National Anthem earlier this year. I loved her Super Bowl halftime performance -- the catwalk strut, the wild hair whipping, Kelly and Michelle jumping out from underneath the stage.
The presidential inauguration however was a different story. She was handpicked because, aside from an incredible dancer, she's also a great singer, and that's what I expected to see at that event.
What do you think? Will you be buying your tickets to see Britney in sin city?
