Lost 80s at 4: American Idol host, Randy Jackson, teamed up with Journey
Journey and Bad English keyboardist/writer, Jonathan Cain, turned 63 yesterday. Today, Journey and Bad English guitarist/writer, Neal Schon, turns 59.
In 1986, after a three year hiatus, Journey had returned to the studio to record the album Raised on Radio. At the time there were only three members of the band; Cain, Schon and vocalist Steve Perry, with the three of them handling the writing chores.
Studio musicians rounded out the band for the recording sessions, including bassist and American Idol judge Randy Jackson.
The first single released became a top ten hit, "Be Good to Yourself."
