He was given a baby grand piano for his fourth birthday, and at age five he auditioned for the Vienna Music Academy where it was confirmed he had perfect pitch.

Mozart? No. It's Johann Holzel, better known as Falco.

Falco died just before his 41st birthday in 1998 from injuries sustained when his car was hit by a bus in the Domincan Republic. He co-wrote "Der Kommissar" which became a No. 1 hit for him in many countries but not the US, British rock band. After the Fire did hit No. 5 on the US charts with their version of his song.

He did find success here with his "Rock Me Amadeus," that one topped the Billboard charts in the spring of 1986 making Falco the first German speaking artist to have a No. 1 on all US pop charts.

Falco would have been 56 years old today.
