BOSTON -- Police bomb squads are being called in to check out two unattended backpacks left at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

There are reports a barefoot man dressed in a long black veil was carrying one of the backpacks.

The area around the finish line has been evacuated and people in surrounding buildings have been told to shelter in place.

Boston is marking the one-year anniversary of the marathon bombings today. That attack killed three people and injured 250.
