White House website takes shot at Congress

It typically doesn’t take more than a visit to the White House website to find President Barack Obama’s weekly schedule, but that’s not the case during the government shutdown.
A banner on the White House website takes a not-so-thinly-veiled shot at Congress, saying the website may not be up to date because of its “failure to pass legislation to find the government.”
The U.S. federal government has been in a shutdown since Oct. 1, forcing more than 800,000 workers to go on furlough and the suspension of many government services.
Obama said Tuesday that Republicans “don’t get to demand ransom in exchange for doing their jobs,” and added “they also don’t get to say … unless you give me what the voters rejected in the last election, I’m going to cause a recession.”
