Congressman confronts ranger at closed WWII memorial

The blame game was alive and well yet again in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.
According to NBC News, Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Tx.) was involved in an argument with a Park Service ranger because she was only allowing veterans to enter the World War II memorial that was fenced off as a result of the partial government shutdown.
Despite the memorial officially being closed, Park Service rangers have been permitting veterans to enter and claim they’re exercising their First Amendment rights.
Neugebauer demanded to know why certain people were allowed to enter and asked “How do you look at them and deny them access?”
“It’s difficult,” responded the Park Service employee.
“Well, it should be difficult,” replied the congressman, who was carrying a small American flag in his breast pocket.
“It is difficult,” responded the Park Service employee. “I’m sorry, sir.”
“The Park Service should be ashamed of themselves,” the congressman said.
“I’m not ashamed,” replied the ranger.
At this point, a federal worker became involved in a brief argument with Neugebauer and each placed blame elsewhere for the shutdown.
