Judicial Watch: One of Boston suspects should have been deported

Apr 19, 2013, 6:34 PM

PHOENIX — The slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect should have been deported in 2009, said Chris Farrell with Judicial Watch.

Farrell said 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev was in the United States after being offered asylum but should have been deported after being convicted of domestic violence.

“The Citizenship and Immigration Services, part of [the Department of Homeland Security], did nothing,” he said. “Makes no connection between his criminal behavior and his status of trying to gain citizenship here.”

Farrell said Chechens have an incredible history when it comes to carrying out gruesome acts of violence. Farrell said he is not shocked in the least that two brothers have carried out the chaos in Boston.

“Unmotivated brutality as a group of people who have been fighting the Soviets, the Russians and themselves. It’s an incredibly violent culture that they come from.”

Chechnya declared independence from Russia in 1991 and Chechen militants successfully targeted Moscow with bombings and hostage plots for more than two decades.

In 2004, Chechen Islamic militants attacked a school in Beslan, North Ossetia, Russia and they murdered 380 children, parents, teachers and visitors after holding more than 1,000 captive for three days.

Farrell sids there’s no telling how many of these Chechen terrorists have infiltrated the United States or how many opportunities the government has missed to protect the country by deporting them.

Osama bin Laden specifically chose Chechnya as a terrorist training camp because it’s an “area unreachable by strikes from the west,” according to the intelligence report obtained by Judicial Watch years ago.
