After the magazine gathered the poll results, the "winning" band came with little shock.
"It's no surprise Creed won this poll - it wasn't even close. This is a band so hated that their own fans sued them after a famously bad show in Chicago in 2003," said Rolling Stone.
Following the No. 1 spot was, Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, Hanson and Nirvana, respectively.
As many would expect, naming Nirvana one of the worst bands of the 90s sparked controversy. Even Rolling Stone themselves were ticked, stating, "We're sorry, but everyone who voted for them in this poll is wrong."
So what sparked so much hate for Nirvana? ToneDeaf.com thinks "some might just be a little bored with grunge."
Let's just be thankful Hanson wasn't ranked more favorable than the Seattle born grunge band -- that could have sparked a riot.
