BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — An iconic Bullhead City one-room schoolhouse is on the move.
The Mohave Valley Daily News reports the building known as the Lil’ Red Schoolhouse is being relocated this week to Bullhead Community Park, where it will sit alongside other historical buildings.
Officials say the schoolhouse’s journey will be a two-day process.
It will be taken from its original location at Lee Avenue and Third Street to a nearby vacant lot. It will then head down Highway 95 the next day to Colorado River Heritage Center at the park.
Officials are planning to secure the building and do more work on it.
The schoolhouse was built in 1947 and served as the city’s first school.
It received a fresh coat of paint and structural upgrades in 2006.
