After being reported as missing on June 22, the bodies of Mike and Tina Careccia were found buried in the backyard of 38-year-old Jose Valenzuela, who has been charged with two counts of murder after allegedly killing the couple with a .22 caliber revolver.
Valenzuela told investigators he was high on methamphetamine at the time of the murders.
With the story gaining national attention, an outpouring of support has flooded in for the five children that have been left behind between the Careccias. In their memory, a GoFundMe account has been set up to assist the family in paying for funeral expenses and any needs the children may have.
Since the account was created on July 2, the campaign has raised $10,840.
