The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture has announced that it will award nearly $805,000 in grant money to local arts and culture groups for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
The grants for the upcoming year match the amount of funds granted by Phoenix in 2013 and 2014, according to Phoenix Business Journal.
Of the $805,000 granted, the city of Phoenix will reportedly funnel $250,000 to a program that donates equipment rental funds to groups working within city-owned performing arts facilities. These facilities include the Orpheum Theatre, Herberger Theatre Center and Phoenix Symphony Hall. In fact, the Phoenix Symphony Association is the organization that will receive the single-most funds, with $101,656 being allocated to that nonprofit by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture.
