PHOENIX — A 24-bed children’s hospital was unveiled Wednesday in a Phoenix suburb.
The 21,000-square-foot Hacienda Children’s Hospital is located near Baseline Road and Country Club Drive in Mesa, Arizona. It will offer care for infants, children and teenagers when it opens July 15.
“It includes a healing garden, wall murals, themed courtyards, a playground for siblings, and more,” Hacienda Healthcare President and CEO William Timmons said.
Timmons said the hospital will become an integral part of Mesa’s health care options.
“If you live in the city of Mesa, you don’t have to leave the city of Mesa to get every single type of health care that you want,” he said.
The $7 million hospital was funded through grants from both the Salt River-Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and multiple foundations.
