A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect in Tucson until 7:30 p.m. with 60 mph gusts and frequently lightning predicted. Around 8:20 p.m., storms were reported to be moving across the south Tucson metro area, with penny-sized hail hitting the ground. Storms moved southwest at 25 mph, the National Weather Service Tucson said.
If you see hail and are in your car, look for covered parking. Take shelter as quickly as you can and stay inside.
