PHOENIX — A wanted fugitive from Arizona was arrested in Mississippi early Thursday morning after engaging in a naked, drunken standoff with police, according to GulfLive.com.
David Wayne Bollom, 52, was arrested around 1 a.m. Thursday morning after holding a gun to a woman’s head and firing a shot at his girlfriend’s mother. Hancock County deputies said Bollom was both naked and drunk during the incident.
Bollom, who has been wanted in Arizona since 2008 on felony drug charges, barricaded himself in a back bedroom in the home to avoid arrest, according to Hancock County Chief Deputy Don Bass.
Deputies tried to get Bollom to surrender before firing a non-lethal chemical munitions shot into the home. The county SWAT team eventually used a battering ram to enter the home and Bollom responded by releasing a large German Shepard, which the team shot and killed.
Bollom continued to fight with officers until “they overpowered him,” according to Bass. He was then treated for minor injuries and arrested on felony charges of aggravated domestic assault, simple assault and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Bollom is being held in the Hancock County Jail on the felony charge from Arizona, while awaiting an extradition hearing and his initial appearance on the Hancock County charges.
