Pooches for pennies: Phoenix is cheapest US city for dog owners

PHOENIX — Here’s some good news for all you dog lovers: A website named Phoenix the cheapest city for dog owners in the United States.
RedFin said the biggest factor in Phoenix’s high rank is the price of dog-friendly rentals. Apparently, we pay 21 percent less on average than anywhere else in the nation.
The Valley also boasts cheap veterinary costs and affordable pet care.
Other cheap cities included Nashville, Detroit and The Woodlands, Texas.
The site said the most expensive city for dog owners is San Francisco, followed by Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Aurora, Colorado; and Portland, Oregon.
