PHOENIX — It always takes a few months to really settle in at a new home.
Just ask Sunshine, a 2-year-old Masai giraffe, who moved to the Phoenix Zoo from the Santa Barbra Zoo late last year. Though she was introduced to the herd shortly after following a brief required quarantine, Sunshine took a while to get comfortable with things.
She was released into the zoo’s savanna exhibit in late April. The zoo staff was there to catch Sunshine’s first run around the area.
It looks like she’s fitting in just fine. We’d made a joke about Sunshine coming to the Phoenix area, but that just seems likes a long reach.
