PHOENIX — More than 350 women from around the world are taking part in the three-day Girls in Tech Catalyst Conference at the Palomar Hotel in downtown Phoenix.
Girls in Tech is a non-profit organization based in California that focuses on engaging, educating and empowering women in technology. The organization chose Arizona to host their annual conference due to the emerging talents in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, according to CEO Adriana Gascoigne.
“There’s a huge diverse group of people and a lot of talented people here,” Gascoigne said. “In any tech hub around the world, you see that talent and diversity create creativity and innovation, which is the foundation to any tech ecosystems.”
They have been listening to speakers and attending seminars to learn about programs and initiatives that encourage women to become entrepreneurs and empower them to have a career in technology.
Gascoigne also noted Phoenix was a great place to hold the conference because of the weather.
