PHOENIX — A man tired of arguing with a friend while they were driving on a Phoenix freeway Tuesday, ended up causing a stir when he was seen walking the road carrying a rifle.
Authorities said the man made his friend pull over along Interstate 17 near the Cactus and Thunderbird roads exits. He got out, took his rifle and began walking home.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officers kept traffic away from the man and eventually took him to a hospital for observation.
DPS said the man hadn’t broken any laws, not even trespassing.
It wasn’t known if the rifle was loaded, but there was no indication the man
fired the rifle or pointed it at anyone while he was on the freeway.
