Mesa names John Meza as police chief after interim stint

PHOENIX — Interim Mesa Police Chief John Meza was officially named chief Monday morning.
Meza took over the duties in February, after Frank Milstead left to become director of the Department of Public Safety.
A national search ended with the change in Meza’s status. He had been assistant chief for seven years and with the department since 1986.
