PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks will honor a Prescott woman killed while being held hostage by the Islamic State.
The team will wear a special patch in Kayla Mueller’s memory.
“The patch will have the name ‘Kayla’ on our jerseys for the first week of spring training,” D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall said.
Hall said the team is planning to give the Mueller family a jersey and patches.
The White House confirmed Mueller’s death last month. ISIS contends she was killed in a Jordanian air strike, but the Pentagon believes the extremists killed her.
