PHOENIX — Arizona’s high country will avoid snowmageddon this weekend, but a great deal of snow is expected nonetheless.
Northern Arizona is expected to be hit with the biggest winter story of the season, as about two feet of snowfall are expected Saturday through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast calls for 17 inches of snow in Flagstaff and up to three feet at Arizona Snowbowl.
Ryan Hartel, resort services director at Snowbowl, said it’s a perfect time for Valley skiiers to head north.
“It’s going to be a great weekend. Fresh snow is always an awesome time to be here at Snowbowl,” he said. “All the lifts will be running. All the terrains (will be) open.”
Last weekend, over two feet of snow fell up north.
