Jodi Arias jury leaves for weekend, no verdict reached

PHOENIX — The jury in the Jodi Arias penalty phase retrial has left for the weekend without reaching a verdict.
The case was placed in the jury’s hands on Wednesday. The 14 jurors are mulling Arias’ fate. She was convicted of murdering her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander.
The jury could sentence Arias to death or life in prison. If she is allowed to live, Judge Sherry Stephens will rule if she is eligible for parole.
The last jury handed Arias’ fate failed to reach a verdict, resulting in a mistrial.
