Woman hit by train near downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — A woman was in a Phoenix area hospital after she was hit by a train Thursday morning.
The unidentified woman was in serious condition after the accident at Thomas Road and 27th Avenue.
The train hit her but she managed to avoid getting caught under the wheels.
Police said the woman was wearing earbuds and eating when the train approached. Horns, bells and lights flashed at the crossing but she didn’t notice.
