SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Companies and retailers are always looking for a way to get noticed during the Super Bowl, and with the big game in town this year, Yandy.com is no exception.
The Phoenix-based lingerie retailer is debuting its Big Game Party Bus, a pink shuttle decked out with music, models and merchandise displays. The free service will make its way through Scottsdale during Super Bowl Sunday.
“The bus features four TVs that show our product and show videos that we made for YouTube,” said Chad Horstman, CEO of Yandy.com. “We have special laser lighting, fusia and zebra-print seats. It’s all decked out, including a pole in the middle.”
The bus fits 15 to 20 people. It features LED lighting and a dynamic music sound system.
With the debut of the Big Game Party Bus, the retailer hopes to attract a wave of potential customers while providing safe, easy and free transportation during one of the busiest weekends in the Scottsdale area.
“We’re mainly an online company, focused on online marketing,” Horstman said. “This was a way for us to reach out and really get face-to-face communication with our fans and people who have never heard of Yandy.com.”
During Super Bowl weekend, the pink shuttle bus will begin its pickup location at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Wells Fargo Arena Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale. The plan is to pick up and drop guests around different hot spots around town. There will also be trips to TPC Scottsdale where the Waste Management Phoenix Open is being played.
“I envision us inviting people on the bus, providing them with free water and free swag bags,” Horstman said.
“Lingerie Hosts” will wear Yandy.com merchandise and hand out promotional gifts as the bus makes its way around Old Town Scottsdale. The hosts will wear football-inspired costumes.
Bus transportation is free until 10 p.m. on Friday. Service will resume at 10 a.m. Saturday and will continue until 10 p.m.
On Super Bowl Sunday, the bus will begin its service at 10 a.m. and end at 7 p.m.
Plans for a permanent Yandy.com party bus are in the works for after Super Bowl Sunday.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, Horstman hopes guests will get creative ideas from their experience during Super Bowl Weekend. “’50 Shades of Gray’ the movie is coming out, and Yandy.com has plenty of sexy lingerie to really spice up the bedroom,” he said.
Bachelorette and private parties are in the works, as well.
Horstman hopes locals and tourists alike will take away a unique experience as they make their way around Scottsdale. “Anyone that finds us is going to have a pretty good time,” he said. “We felt it was pretty important with the Super Bowl being in our backyard to make this our coming-out party.”
