Campaign ripping NFL chief, domestic violence rolls into Phoenix

PHOENIX — An advocacy community is sending NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a big message about pro football players and domestic violence during Super Bowl Week in Arizona.

Trucks displaying the billboards with the messages “55 Cases of Domestic Violence Unanswered” and “#GoodellMustGo” will crisscross the Valley on Thursday through game day Sunday.

UltraViolet’s campaign will send four trucks to Sky Harbor Airport, hotels and other Super Bowl XLIX-related sites.

“With over 100 million around the world watching, now is the time to highlight the NFL’s domestic violence problem,” Nita Chaudhary said in a statement.

The NFL has drawn heavy criticism for its lax handling of high-profile domestic abuse cases involving NFL players.

Chaudhary, UltraViolet’s cofounder said, “Plain and simple, the NFL doesn’t have the leadership to fix their violence-against-women problem and Goodell needs to go for that to change.”

The campaign includes a stark anti-violence video and during the season, planes towing banners calling for Goodell’s dismissal flew over some stadiums during NFL games.

We want to hear from you.
