Tempe dancer Bridget Whitman will return to her native land Sunday, Jan. 25 when FOX’s hit show, So You Think You Can Dance, heads to Comerica Theatre as a part of its performance tour.
Whitman, who has been dancing since she was four, trained at Tempe Dance Academy forty hours a week along with an AP course load and cheerleading schedule as she got older and attended Notre Dame Prep in Phoenix.
She auditioned for the show a little over a year ago with a moving performance, made especially more powerful after she shared stories about losing her father in a car accident when she was younger.
Whitman told the Phoenix New Times’ Jackalope Ranch culture blog she’s seen a lot of amazing dance come out of Arizona. She’ll have a chance to return to that scene, and see her family and friends in the process.
