PHOENIX — For those heading to the Phoenix area for the Super Bowl who are worried they won’t have time to see one of the natural wonders of the world, you’re in luck.
A 30-foot replica climbing wall of the Grand Canyon is being erected in downtown Phoenix.
“Arizona is the Grand Canyon State and there is no better way to pay tribute to Arizona’s unique warmth, natural beauty and plentiful resources,” Jay Parry, president and CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, said in a release.
The largest attraction inside Super Bowl Central, a complex comprising 12 city blocks, the wall — located on the corner of First and Jefferson streets — will be able to handle 20 climbers at once and will feature an 18-foot waterfall symbolizing the Colorado River.
Climbers have to be 6 and older. Each trip on the wall is $5.
The wall be available for scaling starting Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.
