PHOENIX — Freeways were a cluster of accidents even more than usual Wednesday, forcing commuters to slog their way on the roadways.
Drivers south of Phoenix had to deal with not only other drivers but fog.
More than a half-dozen dozen accidents were reported by Arizona Department of Transportation, including: northbound Loop 101 at Chaparral Road, which pushed traffic back to the Loop 202; Interstate 17 south at Indian School Road — lanes were jammed all the way to Thunderbird Road; I-17 north at Union Hills Drive; U.S. 60 West at McClintock Drive, that left debris on the freeway.
