PHOENIX — A Tempe, Ariz. school was placed on lockdown for a short time Thursday while police searched the area for a suspect.
Nevitt Elementary School was put on lockdown while police searched the area of 48th Street and Southern Avenue for 32-year-old Mark Aceves. The lockdown was lifted shortly after.
Police said Aceves fled from officers in a vehicle. He is wanted for an outstanding aggravated assault warrant.
Police believed Aceves was hiding in a nearby house but a search reveled he was not in the residence.
