Tucson named Arizona’s best city for an active lifestyle

It’s hard to stay in shape during the holiday season. So many events, so many meals, so many sweets. But avoiding those extra pounds this holiday season can be very beneficial to your health.
In the spirit of good health, WalletHub compiled a list of the cities most friendly to an active lifestyle based on factors such as cost of monthly fitness club, number of sports clubs and more.
Five Arizona cities ranked in the top 40 spots.
Tucson came in at No. 8 nationally, while Scottsdale (26), Mesa (29), Glendale (36) and Chandler (37) all gained high rankings as well.
Tucson had the No. 7 rank in the study’s “Sports Facilities & Outdoor Environment” category, while getting No. 21 in “Budget & Participation.” Mesa landed the No. 12 spot in the latter category.
Omaha and Portland topped the list while Pittsburgh (3), Reno (4), Orlando (5), Tampa (6), Irvine (7), Colorado Springs (9) and Atlanta (10) rounded out the top 10 spots.
