PHOENIX — After a monthslong search, the Fiesta Bowl has found a new sponsor, electronics giant Vizio, it was announced Tuesday.
The naming-rights to the game played at the University of Phoenix became available in June, when longtime sponsor Tostitos pulled out.
Vizio had previously held the naming rights to the Rose Bowl.
“As we enter into a new era of college football, it is an exciting year for VIZIO to join the Fiesta Bowl,” said Mike Nealy, Fiesta Bowl executive director in a statement. “We look forward to working together as partners to celebrate and promote the rich traditions of college football.”
The 44-year-old bowl is one six bowl games in the new playoff system. The others are the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Capital One Orange Bowl, the Rose Bowl presented by Northwestern Mutual and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
The Fiesta Bowl is set for Dec. 31.
