PHOENIX — Police were searching for two suspects Wednesday following a shooting in Tempe.
Police believe two men fled from the area near Baseline and Hardy roads about 12:30 p.m.
Responding officers say two victims had been engaged in an altercation with
three suspects at a Tempe apartment complex.
During the scuffle, the suspects began beating up one of the victims.
Police say the second victim attempted to run away and the suspects chased him
and fired at least two shots.
They say two suspects had handguns and the other possibly had an assault rifle.
The victims and suspects apparently knew each other, but the reason for the
altercation remains unclear.
Police say nobody was shot and the injuries that the two victims received are
non-life threatening.
