PHOENIX — Besides being one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, Phoenix was recently named the fourth-best area to find a job this fall by Forbes.
Forbes calculated the rankings by finding the percent of employers planning to increase hiring and subtracting the percent of those who plan to decrease their search for new employees.
The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area’s net employment growth percentage was 17 percent, only 3 percent less than the highest-ranking area of San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara (California).
This wouldn’t be the first time Phoenix has seen economic progress since the recession. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Phoenix-Mesa-Glendale area experienced a 2.1 percent jump in nonfarm employment from June 2013 to June 2014.
The jobs in the highest demand in Phoenix are those in health care, construction and social services, according to Education Portal, a career guide website.
