PHOENIX — A trailer filled with recreational equipment stolen from a Phoenix youth center has been recovered.
The Refuge, near Deer Valley Road and Seventh Avenue, was broken into Thursday, thieves escaping with surfboards, tents, and a kayak, among other items. The load was estimated at thousands of dollars.
The nonprofit gives local youth the chance to participate in adventurous outings if they get good grades and exhibit good behavior.
The trailer, with the majority of equipment inside, was found abandoned Monday night.
