Self-help leader in sweat lodge deaths back in Arizona as seminar host

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A self-help author who spent nearly two years in prison for the deaths of three people following a sweat lodge ceremony is in Arizona to host several seminars.

James Ray is leading discussions on how to deal with personal crisis in Scottsdale for two days beginning Saturday.

According to his website, ticketholders will have the chance to speak with Ray about challenges they are dealing with in their own lives.

Ray was convicted on three counts of negligent homicide in the October 2009 sweat lodge ceremony he led near Sedona.

He served 20 months in an Arizona prison.

Tom McFeeley, the cousin of victim Kirby Brown, told KNXV-TV that it's an insult for Ray to hold his programs in the state where the crimes were committed.
