PHOENIX — One new United States Postal Service stamp will pay homage to one of Arizona’s biggest attractions — the Grand Canyon.
The stamp, part of a new series from the 19th century Hudson River School movement, hit stands on Thursday. It is a painting of the Grand Canyon created by artist Thomas Moran.
“These stamps are beautiful, and they are forever stamps,” said Post Office official Ed Phelan, Jr., in a press release. “They will always be good to send a card or letter, no matter what the postage rate might be. They will last into the future, much like the paintings they honor.”
The other three stamps in the series focus on New York.
