PHOENIX -- Thunderstorms hit the Phoenix area, causing scattered damage and capsizing a boat but apparently not causing any injuries.

A downed power line downed Sunday evening interrupted power to 500 customers in north Phoenix while 100 customers in Tempe also lost power. There also were reports of minor street flooding.

Three people on a boat that capsized on Lake Pleasant made it to shore and a fourth person was rescued unharmed.

Blowing dust was reported in Apache Junction and Chandler and to the south in the Eloy area.

The National Weather Service said a combination of a low-pressure area approaching from the northwest and increasing moisture from the south will likely produce more thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday.
