MARICOPA, Ariz. -- A Pennsylvania-based college is offering Maricopa residents a chance to earn a bachelor's degree.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reported that Maricopa officials and Albright College have announced an accelerated degree completion program.
The program will consist of three areas of study -- applied psychology, business administration and information systems. It will be aimed toward nontraditional students who also work.
Maricopa officials said residents need more local higher education choices.
Central Arizona College opened a campus in the area last year. Albright has already agreed on a transfer process for interested CAC students.
Albright is a private institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church and based in Reading, Pennsylvania. The school has 10 satellite campuses across the country, including one in Mesa.
