Driver arrested in fatal Tucson collision

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities have charged a man suspected of causing a collision in Tucson that led to the death of a woman riding with him.

Tucson police said 33-year-old Robert Harrington was booked into Pima County Jail on Saturday on several charges including second-degree murder, felony criminal damage and unlawful possession of a narcotic drug.

They said Harrington's Nissan pickup ran a red light at the intersection of Tucson Boulevard and Drexel Road Thursday morning.

The pickup collided with a Freightliner box truck, causing the truck to jump a curb and strike two homes.

Harrington's passenger, 22-year-old Patricia Martinez, died at the scene. The truck's 32-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

No occupants in the two homes were hurt.
