PHOENIX — Heavy rain brought some blowing dust along with it to the Valley on Thursday afternoon.
The East Valley and Southeast Valley were struck especially hard by torrential downpours. There were even reports of hail in Chandler.
The storms headed northeast, just skirting Phoenix.
At 6:00 p.m. isolated storms had formed southwest of Gila Bend, along Interstate 8 bringing with them gusty winds and ponding rain.
The biggest threat for Phoenix remains blowing dust. An advisory was in effect until 6 p.m., and while the advisory for widespread blowing dust has since expired, the National Weather Service has warned travelers to still be on the lookout.
