PHOENIX — An arrest has finally been made in a shooting that took place in Phoenix in 2004.
Police said 28-year-old Juan Carlos Mendoza was arrested in Surprise on Wednesday without incident.
Mendoza allegedly shot the victim multiple times during an argument and fled to Mexico shortly afterward. Police said he re-entered the United States in March a decade later by using a fake name.
Mendoza was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.
