PHOENIX -- Two children were found in a car that crashed during a chase that began when an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding.
The Department of Public Safety said two men ran from the crashed vehicle at a Phoenix intersection but were arrested in the vicinity early Thursday morning.
The vehicle was speeding, closing on 100 mph, when it passed the officer monitoring traffic on State Route 51 near Bethany Home Road.
Officers said the children, a baby and a toddler, were turned over to state child welfare after being treated for minor injuries.
A woman in the car was also taken into custody. Names and other details haven't been released.
