RIMROCK, Ariz. -- Two men from Lakeside have been injured after the small plane they were in crashed at the Rimrock airport.
Yavapai County Sheriff's officials said witnesses reported that the single-engine aircraft was making a takeoff maneuver when it went down in terrain below the level of the runway about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said weather conditions were poor at the time with rain and low clouds.
Pilot Ronald Manette, 61, and 48-year-old passenger Grady Hillis were found conscious inside the Mooney M20F plane and transported by ambulance to Flagstaff Medical Center.
They were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
It wasn't immediately clear where the plane was headed.
