KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A 120-pound bell that went missing from a Kingman church has been returned.
The Kingman Daily Miner reported that the brass bell was brought back to St. Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday by a man who wished to remain anonymous.
Church parish coordinator Donna Wicker said the man told her that he had informed Kingman police in an anonymous phone call about the bell's whereabouts and was working with them.
Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said authorities did get an anonymous call about the bell but did not disclose any other details.
The bell was caked in dirt, indicating it had been buried. It had last been seen March 22.
Wicker said the church will likely place the bell in the belfry after church construction work is completed.
