CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Chandler police said a family fight led to a stabbing on a golf course.
Police spokesman Joseph Favazzo said authorities received a 911 call Thursday around 4:30 a.m. about several people fighting at the Bear Creek Golf Course.
Favazzo said one person had been stabbed but the injuries were not life-threatening. The victim works at the golf course.
He said a suspect gave chase in a vehicle and officers followed the vehicle onto the Gila River Indian reservation.
Officers said the suspect backed into a police vehicle before crashing into a canal.
Favazzo said three people in the vehicle were detained.
Police believe everyone involved in the incident knows each other and a family argument earlier in the week led to the fight.
