Arizona man found dead in home among dozens of cats, dogs

WITTMANN, Ariz. -- A man described as an animal hoarder was found dead in his Wittmann mobile home and authorities said he was partially eaten by his pets.

Marciopa County Sheriff's officials said the body of 78-year-old Jerry Brown was discovered Tuesday and he likely died about a week ago.

Deputies conducted a welfare check after a neighbor said he hadn't seen Brown since July 27 and there was a foul smell coming from the home.

Deputies found the body in a bed inside the home. There were more than three dozen dogs and cats in the trailer home and on the property.

No cause of death has been determined.

A neighbor said conditions inside Brown's trailer home were deplorable with animal feces and empty food boxes littering the floors.
