Arizona independents have voting options in August primary

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Secretary of State's office is trying to clear up misinformation about ways independents are allowed to vote in the August 26 primary election.

Independents first must choose which of the four registered parties' primaries they wish to cast a ballot in. The choices are Republican, Democratic, Libertarian and Americans Elect.

Voters who want to get an early ballot must call their county recorder by August 15, return it by mail by August 22 or drop it off at a polling place by Election Day.

Voters also can go to an early voting location to vote in person, or vote on election day at their regular polling place. Information also is available at the Secretary of State's website.
