FLORENCE, Ariz. -- A Casa Grande mother charged with killing her teenage daughter and trying to poison her three other children last Christmas will go on trial for murder next year.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reported that a trial date of July 6 has been set in Pinal County Superior Court for 36-year-old Connie Villa.
The Pinal County Attorney's Office is seeking the death penalty.
Villa told police that she didn't want the children's father to gain custody of them. She is accused of suffocating Ania Rael Macias, 13, to death and trying to poison her other children.
