PHOENIX -- 1 dead, 1 hurt after shooting at Phoenix home
PHOENIX (AP) — Police say an argument at a Phoenix home led to a stabbing and then a fatal shooting.
Police spokesman Steve Martos says officers responded to a shooting Friday around 7:30 p.m. and found a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound and a 53-year-old man who had been stabbed.
The 27-year-old was pronounced dead. The older victim is in serious but stable condition.
A 29-year-old woman who was also at the home told investigators she and the deceased victim went to the house and an argument led to the 27-year-old allegedly stabbing the 53-year-old. A 20-year-old man who lives in the home then shot the stabbing suspect, telling police he acted in defense of the other man.
According to Martos, the 20-year-old has been released pending further investigation.
